Ch. 6: Minutemen vs. Redcoats

Ch. 6 discusses the history of Alvin's town, Concord, Massachusetts. What did you learn about Minutemen and Redcoats? Alvin also discusses his family's history. What did you learn about the Chinese culture?

  1. The battle was on Patriot's Day, which is on April 19. That day was when the American Revolutionary War began back in 1775. The minutemen were good guys, and the redcoats were the bad guys. The redcoats were sent by the King of England to capture the gunpowder and explosives that the minutemen had hidden all over Concord. His family history had a lot of people who fought in wars. In China you would say feng shui instead of some places are more exciting than others.

  2. They were from the American Revolution which began in 1775. The Minuteman were George Washington's gang and The Redcoats were the british gang.

    I think Gunggung is the Chinese name for a grandpa.

  3. Minutemen are the U.S. army Redcoats are the British army.Feng shui is Chinise for some places are more exciting than others.He said the only thing he didn't like about Concord is there is no volcanos.

  5. The minute men are good guys. The redcoats were bad they were sent by the king of England. In China feng shui is the Chinese way of saying some places are more exiting then others.

  6. The battle happened on Patriots Day, and the minute men and the redcoats were people in war at the American revolution which started at 1775. The redcoats were sent by the King of England to capture the gunpowder and explosives that the minutemen had all over concord. The redcoats were British and the minutemen were American (George Washington). And some things about his Chinese culture is gunggung is a chinese word for grandpa, and Kimchi and Wasabi are Chinese food.
